Celebrating the 5th anniversary of Pecha Kucha Night Budapest

Last December we celebrated the 5th birthday of Pecha Kucha Night Budapest! As usually, we enjoyed sexy-quick talks by young architects, designers and artists.

At this time I also delivered a talk to tell some words about the background of organizing the Pecha Kucha events. I wanted to share some insights of what I think the core values of Pecha Kucha events are. Above that, the numbers just look awesome: 5 years, 26 events, 300 presenters, 4000 slides, 7500 viewers. My talk was accompanied with a video message by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham, founders of Pecha Kucha Night global and architects at Klein-Dytham architecture.

At this very occasion we also organized a party with KÉK, the Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre to celebrate. We had some delicious cake and enjoyed a party underlined with the music by DJ Mesterházy who played music at the very first event back in 2006. Hahh, nice memories…

Talk at NYME University

I was invited to deliver a talk on my work at NYME University, Institute for Applied Arts on 6 December 2011.

In my talk I gave an overview of my works as architect (restaurant in Pécs at Téralkotó, CET Budapest at ONL Hungary, Gomba competition with Ádám Vesztergom), researcher (Smoke Viz, Datafizz, SubMap), as social entrepreneur and cultural broker (student union projects, Pecha Kucha Night Budapest, Remix Architecture, McLuhan wikisprint, Subjective Atlas of Hungary).

Kitchen Budapest media lab and HVG Könyvek publisher released Subjective Atlas of Hungary in August 2011, co-edited by Dutch designer Annelys de Vet and curator Attila Bujdosó. Inspired by the many positive feedback the book received since its launch, this exhibition features a unique selection of artworks presented in the atlas.

SubMap project receives Design Award

SubMap project receives 2011 Design Award in the category of Interactive Design. Find out more about the newly established Hungarian Design Award by hg.hu at designaward.hu.

The award giving ceremony on 6 October 2011 will be followed by an exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, featuring all winning and shortlisted entries of all (architecture, fashion, graphic, interactive and product design) categories.

During Budapest Design Week 2011, Kitchen Budapest media lab and HVG Könyvek publisher organise a workshop in relation to the Subjective Atlas of Hungary, a book published in summer 2011. Subjective Atlas of Hungary – book launch

Finally we are about to release the Subjective Atlas of Hungary, a book that I curated and co-edited in the past year. For this publication, fifty young visual authors were invited to put their homeland in perspective. At the launch event you can hold a copy in your hands and meet the authors and editors of the atlas.
